Crow Wood : Burnley

Crow Wood is a high quality equestrian and sports centre sited adjacent to the M65, Burnley, Lancashire. The Appleton Group were involved during the planning process and presented evidence, including a landscape masterplan to a successful public inquiry. Subsequently, we dealt with reserved matters landscape submissions including a unique woodland planting scheme. The site contains a 1 kilometre all weather gallop, a cross country course, stabling and paddocks for house grazing together with a new public bridleway and an indoor leisure centre. The photographs show planting during the construction process during 2001. It is now maturing well and the enterprise is very successful.
